I live in a cozy wooden house with my best friend. Our home has several shelves that we love to jump on—sometimes we even race each other, leaping from one to the next! The floor is soft and covered in hay, which our carer replaces daily. We also have a special toilet area—very fancy, if I do say so myself! The high ceilings let us stretch as much as we like, which is important for keeping us active.
Outside, our garden has two wooden platforms—one big enough for both of us to sit on and another that provides a nice shady spot underneath. There are also three tunnels filled with shredded paper. Two of them are just the right size for one of us to hide away when we need a little alone time, but the third is big enough for us to share. I do enjoy spending time with my friend, but sometimes I like to relax by myself in my own little tunnel.
Our days are filled with fun—we love to dig, chase balls, and of course, eat! But the best part of our day is when our carer comes home. That’s when we get extra cuddles and new toys to play with.

May is a month full of promise and beauty. Fresh green leaves, blossom, grass which has changed colour from brown to bright green, in all nature at her prettiest best. May also promises lovely weather, shrugging off the cold of winter and not yet stifling with the heat of summer.
March brings us daffodils, cherry blossom and a flowery start to the end of winter. Traditionally March has also been known as a month of winds but now like all other months in the year it is a month of weather changes. Time to get outside and enjoy the beauty that spring brings us. Take your pets outside and enjoy nature in its prettiness.
The Hidden Dangers of Minor Wounds
It's a common scenario: your pet comes home with a small scratch or cut—perhaps from a play session or getting into something they shouldn't. It seems insignificant, barely worth worrying about.
However, this is where many pet owners make a critical mistake. Without proper cleaning and treatment, even the most minor wound can become a gateway to serious infections, leading to increased risk of illness, pain for your pet, and potentially life-threatening situations.
Not to mention, the ensuing emergency vet visits can take a toll on your peace of mind.

Here we are in the month of love ❤️ January and its good intentions are behind us and we can concentrate on the people, the pets and the activities that make us happy. Spring is just around the corner with its promise of beautiful flowers, soft green new leaves and summer activities.
Whilst for many Valentines Day may seem to be a bit of a ‘Hallmark’ event, it does remind us to cherish the things we love and to acknowledge that love.
Our pets appreciate a bit of extra affection just as our human friends do, so take the time to groom, play with, walk or cuddle your pet.
Whilst we are thinking about love let’s not forget to love ourselves too! A box of our favorite chocolates, a rom com movie on the tv and a glass of wine could be a way of expressing self love! And whilst watching that movie cuddle up to your pet, unless your pet is a horse of course!

I’m not very tall but that doesn’t stop me from racing around outside and if I am honest it doesn’t stop me racing around inside either, although this is not always appreciated by my home owners!
I’m very inquisitive too and love to know what is going on around me and what my human friends are doing. I want to be part of what is going on and love to be with the smaller humans in the house.
At times though, I think that they need to stop wandering around, what looks like aimlessly to me, and I try to move them into a cohesive group, sometimes it works but not always!
However I just wait for the right moment and then I start again and try to get the humans to bunch together, it must be my herding instincts from when my ancestors used to herd cattle.
Although I like to run around and have lots of energy to participate with my human’s activities, I do love it when we settle down to watch the tv and I am allowed to sit on the sofa with all the family.
I really enjoy them stroking me whilst we cuddle up, it is one of my favorite times of the day. I’m lucky to be part of a human family that likes the outdoors and doing things together, I love them very much.
Sometimes I have to be quite fierce if I think another human is being unkind to one of my family of humans, but they do say that my bark is worse than my bite.
My name is Betty and I am a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and I live with the Parkes family of humans.

Keeping your furry friend's eyes and ears clean is an essential part of pet care. Here are some quick tips to ensure a gentle and effective cleaning routine using sterile saline solution:
For Eyes:
Choose the Right Solution: Opt for a sterile saline solution specifically designed for pets. This ensures a gentle and safe cleanse without causing irritation. If you are in need of solution, you can purchase some here!
Use a Soft Cloth or Cotton Ball: Dampen a soft cloth or cotton ball with the sterile saline solution. Gently wipe away any discharge or debris from the corners of your pet's eyes.
One Eye at a Time: Focus on one eye at a time to avoid overwhelming your pet. Be patient and reward them with treats or affection to make the experience positive.
For Ears:
Inspect Before Cleaning: Check your pet's ears for redness, swelling, or excessive wax. If you notice anything unusual, consult your vet before cleaning.
Apply Sterile Saline Solution: Use a sterile saline solution to moisten a cotton ball. Gently wipe the visible parts of the ear, avoiding the ear canal. Never insert anything into the ear canal without professional guidance. If you are in need of solution, you can purchase some here!
Establish a Routine: Make ear and eye cleaning a regular part of your grooming routine. Consistency helps prevent the buildup of dirt and reduces the risk of infections.
Remember, a gentle touch and the right tools, like sterile saline solution, can go a long way in maintaining your pet's eye and ear health. If you ever have concerns or questions, consult with your veterinarian for personalized advice.
Happy cleaning and happy, healthy pets! 🐾✨
The start of a new year usually starts off full of good intentions! Intentions like not eating food that is fattening, drinking less alcohol, taking more exercise, making more of an effort to see family and friends and as the credit card statements arrive it’s difficult to keep to these good intentions. Usually by the end of January good intentions have flown out of the window!
Although the beginning of a new year gives us the opportunity to re-evaluate our way of life and often make some changes for the better. Just as we want to improve our own quality of life we should think about our pets and how we can improve their lives, better quality food, fewer tidbits from the dining table or more exercise perhaps, as well as showing our pets love and affection.
Once the magic and busyness of Christmas has gone January can seem a dour month, a bit long and with little money to spend, but nature is re-evaluating too, conserving energy in order to get ready for spring and soon spring will be with us bringing blossom and the first flowers. And then suddenly we are off, into the new year with Christmas just around the corner!

Best Christmas Song Winner
Perhaps not surprisingly the winner of our best Christmas song was ‘White Christmas’ with ‘Santa Baby’ being a close second.
White Christmas was originally sung by Bing Crosby in 1942 and has sold over 50 million copies since then making it the best selling Christmas song. Since then it has been covered by at least 500 artists including Michael Bublé, The Temptations and Taylor Swift.
Santa Baby was first sung by Eartha Kitt in 1953 and has been covered by Madonna, Kylie, Gwen Stefani and Ariana Grande.
A big Christmas thank you to all our voters 🎄🤶🎅

Pet Tales
I have been living in my new home for several days now, it’s full of humans, 2 big ones and 2 much smaller ones. When the smaller ones first saw me on Christmas Day they were very excited and wanted to play with me and run about lots.
It took a bit of getting used to but the bigger humans are much calmer especially the man human. He always makes sure that I have food and water and stops the small humans from playing with me when I’m tired, sometimes I just fall asleep even when I’m running about! He also keeps putting me outside in the garden. Although he doesn’t shout at me when I pee in the house, he always puts me outside if I do, so I think he wants me to pee outside. I will try my best but sometimes I am just so excited to be playing with the small humans that I forget to go to the door to be let outside.
All the humans are very kind to me and I get lots of cuddles from them, but I do miss my mum and my brothers and sisters, I wonder if I will ever see them again. In the meantime there is lots to do, the man human takes me for walks every day, there are lots of new smells to discover and it’s good to just be with him, he talks to me and is trying to teach me to sit when he wants me to. When we get back from our walks everybody wants to play or show me stuff and it’s very busy. I’m beginning to like my new home, it’s not as scary as it was when I first arrived and I have my favorite spots to sleep and dream.
I’m a black Labrador, I think my name is Ludo, (that’s what everybody says when they want my attention), and the man human is called Peter. I’m twelve weeks old.
